What a week it has been! In response to COVID-19, I have temporarily closed my office and postponed all in-person art therapy sessions. Since I mostly work with children, I wanted to find a way to share this message directly with them. I wanted to let them know that I am sorry we won’t be able to see each other for a while and to explain what’s happening. So, I made a little comic that doubles as a coloring page. I sent it to my clients to share with their kiddos if they feel it is appropriate.
Right now we may find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, anxious, confused, or upset. We might easily forget that the little ones in our lives are navigating this too, with a lot less understanding of what it all means. I want to make sure that I do my best to share information and comfort with my little clients in a way that honours their experience and intelligence.
Here’s the comic I made for my clients:

Busy hands can help relax anxious minds, no matter how old we are!
If you have any questions, feedback, or ideas about how I can offer support, please send me an email! I am still checking my messages regularly and would love to hear from you.
Stay safe and be well, dear friends.
